FAQs

All our programmes are completely free!

Normally you get what you pay for, but in this case Public Health England have paid for everything, so you get an award-winning programme for nothing.

To be eligible for BeeZee Families, you need to live in Brighton & Hove, Gloucestershire, Hertfordshire, or London (Brent, Hounslow and Waltham Forest only).

At least one of your children also needs to be between 5-15 years old and above their ideal weight based on the BMI centile chart.

You can check this in 30 seconds using our BMI calculator, or we can help you work this out if you’re not sure – just fill in the signup form and we’ll give you a quick call to go over everything.

The requirements are actually a little bit looser for Hertfordshire – find out more here.

If you live in Brighton and Hove, feel free to sign up with us and we will be in contact about future opportunities as we can!

The whole family is welcome (and encouraged) to attend!

Most children come with their parents, and the parents often come away having learned just as much as their kids. Plus this way you can support each other and put what you’ve learned into practise straight away.

Absolutely not.

We understand that you might have had bad experiences in the past with dieticians and other professionals. That happens a lot, but BeeZee Bodies is different.

Raising a healthy family is hard, and we’re all just doing our best. We want to make that journey easier, not harder. We’re not here to judge you – we’re here to help you!

Our top priority is your child’s physical and mental health. We don’t focus on weight, we NEVER use the ‘f’ word, and we promote positive body image in all the children we work with.

We don’t put children on damaging diets or force them to exercise. Instead we guide them towards finding healthy foods they like, educate them on how to eat a balanced diet (which includes yummy treats in the right amounts!), and encourage them to find joy in movement.

It can be really difficult to raise the issue of being overweight with your child. However, by addressing it now, you will help them to adopt healthy skills for life and grow into healthy, happy adults!
