Herts Eligibility Criteria

Helping the people who need it most

BeeZee Families Eligibility Criteria

Families with a child aged 5-15 who is above the 91st centile for weight will be eligible for our flagship 12-week BeeZee Families programme, so long as they live, go to school in, or are registered with a GP in Hertfordshire.

BeeZee Lite Eligibility Criteria

Our one hour, 1:1 appointments to address specific challenges around maintaining healthy habits at home are open to the same people that BeeZee Families is open to. That’s families with a child aged 5-15, above the 91st centile, either living, going to school in, or registered with a GP in Hertfordshire.

But we also offer BeeZee Lite to families with a child (in the same age range and still in Hertfordshire) who present 2 or more of the risk factors below, even if they’re not above the 91st centile for weight.

Additional risk factors to qualify for BeeZee Lite:

  • Children with SEND
  • At least one parent or older sibling is overweight / obese
  • Rapid weight gain (2 centiles crossed)
  • Poor diet
  • Poor sleep patterns
  • Poor oral health
  • Less than 1 hour of physical activity a day
  • Fussy / restrictive eating (but not underweight)
  • 2+ hours of screen time per day
  • Poor self-esteem in relation to weight
  • Subject to weight-based bullying
  • Living in deprivation quintiles Q1 or Q2
  • Ethnic minority groups
  • Conditions associated with obesity

B.You(th) Eligibility Criteria

All young people aged 13-17 who live, go to school, or are registered with a GP in Hertfordshire are eligible for our 10-week B.You(th) programme, regardless of weight.

HENRY Eligibility Criteria

HENRY is open to families with a young child aged 0-5, registered with a GP in Hertfordshire, and with a BMI above the 91st centile.

If spaces aren’t filled by those families, then HENRY will also be open to families with a child presenting at least two of the risk factors below:

  • At least one parent or older sibling is overweight / obese
  • Rapid weight gain (2 centiles crossed)
  • Less than 1 hour of physical activity a day
  • Parent has a poor diet
  • Parent has a weight / oral health concern
  • Early introduction of solids (<6 months)
  • Fussy / restrictive eating (but not underweight)
  • Poor responsive feeding techniques
  • Poor sleep patterns
