Walk This May!

Put your best foot forward for National Walking Month

Lace up your trainers – it’s National Walking Month! That’s right, the whole of May is dedicated to celebrating walking. Whether you hit the pavements or the park, the fields or the beach – it’s time to Walk this May….

There are tons of health benefits from walking, whatever your age or level of fitness. It’s a great way to keep active and burn calories, strengthen your muscles, support your joints AND lift your mood. Everyone feels better after a stroll in the fresh air.

Plus it’s completely customisable to your likes and dislikes – choose your own speed, intensity, and surroundings. Take the kids and stop off at the swings or to investigate the wildlife; enjoy some ‘me time’ with your favourite music or podcast; walk with friends for a social catch up – the possibilities are endless!

So this May, we want you to get stepping in the right direction (whichever way that may be for you!). Over the next few weeks, we’ll be giving some of our favourite places to walk in our BeeZeeBodies locations!

The BeeZee Herts Team are on a May Mission...

Our BeeZee Families team in Hertfordshire are taking National Walking Month very seriously; they’ve set up a challenge to find out who can take the most steps over the month of May. Using their Fitbit or pedometer on their phones, every member of the team are tracking their daily steps and keeping a big leaderboard in the office to keep everybody motivated. The aim is to each do 10,000 steps a day….but who will do the most?!

Well, Ben may have the upper hand in this challenge as he’s going on a walking holiday up Ben Nevis – but will anybody beat him or come close?!

The challenge has been organised by our administrator (and BeeZee Ladies graduate!) Marie. She said “I thought a walking challenge would be a great team building activity and a way to motivate each other. Personally I want to get moving more and being accountable with the rest of the team will help my commitment!”

Keep an eye on our social media to see how the team are getting on- place your bets!
